Filesharing Review > On the legal downloading of music

[Hospitalville] Nolan reminded me last night of an email I sent Lindsay three years ago in which I waxed rhapsodic about the experience of buying an actual physical CD, unwrapping it, reading the liner notes, smelling the new paper—the entire experience that’s absent when all the action involved is between you and your mouse and keyboard. I download music like a fiend, but when I have money, I buy it even more fervently—given the choice between buying from, say, the iTunes store and walking down to, say, Megatunes, I’ll take the walk any day.
