Something Like a Mahna Mahna

http://mcboozo.blogspot.com [McBoozo's Drunken Poetry Jam] I was born a small circus clown in the upper midwest U.S. It was a cold, windy night and my mother's tentacles kept me from freezing to death, fortunately my father was a pygmy eskimo so it was in my blood to survive nights like these! I didn't get to spend much time with my parents as a child, for I was abducted by a clan of intergalactic space monkeys (dressed like Elvis impersonators too) and forced into a life of driving tiny cars, wearing flowers that squirted people, and doing things that really hurt me but kept the audience laughing.

In a document posted to the MPAA’s Web site, the association predicted that consumers ‘will be the ultimate winners as they will have more access to the high-quality content they desire, and it will be available across a wider array of devices and platforms.’

Supreme Court rules against Grokster

http://eamonnsullivan.blogspot.com [Eamonn's Home] The decision was unanimous, which is surprising given the tough questioning that both sides got during the hearing. The court appears to say that makers of software or hardware can be held liable if they promote illegal uses -- for example encouraging people to download copyrighted films or music without permission.

Rethinking Grokster

http://eamonnsullivan.blogspot.com [Eamonn's Home] But it's clear that they didn't win anything like what they had been asking the Supremes for””a rule that would penalize any company that made money off a product widely used for infringement, regardless of what the company intended. And though the technical companies and consumer groups are troubled by the outcome in this case, there's still much to encourage them.
