[Old Fart Who Loves Japanese Pop Culture] Future Police Urashiman (Mirai Keisatsu Urashiman) was first broadcast in Japan in January of 1983. I was lucky enough to hear about on the Anime World Order podcast, when Gerald reviewed this almost impossible to find anime but the review was so positive that I wanted to see an episode of this show right away, not only did AWO review it they put up bit torrent files of episodes 1-3, 6,12 & 26.

[Pelleas.net] Pelleas.net | AniPages Daily - June 2004: Sure, there's been some good stuff, but nothing really new, it always felt like they were still just playing in the sandbox, all the familiar habits and tics were there, and as endearing as they might be, what I wanted was something revolutionary and new, something like the impact of Miyazaki 25 years ago, something like what Shinya Ohira did in 1995 with his Hakkenden episode -- that's what I'd been hungering for, I now realized, the sort of movie that would really energize people, that you just couldn't look away from, uncategorizable, monstrously beautiful!
