Filesharing Review > 21 iTunes per iPod

[Axis] So, when people fill up those iPods, where does all the music come from?"Indeed, if you do the math this way, it may work out to about 21 iTunes per iPod (although that math probably doesn't hold up when you consider how many iPods may not even be working anymore... the iPod has been around for several more years than the iTunes music store), and yes, that probably means there is a lot of illegal music on a lot of iPods.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

[Macadamia] Apple Tart: And my Sennheiser noise-cancelling headphones, no longer in-ear, are much, much bigger than the iPod shuffle The key audience for this one, apart from those who have been previously disenfranchised from iPod by price, is all the people who want a tiny flash iPod when exercising. My exercise is dance mat, which already comes with a dodgy soundtrack;

[the brook] Swoopin' on in...: And, with the switch to Intel, there will be not a single item containing a circuit thats either designed or produced by Apple. Mac OS X remains the lone hero in the Apple contribution field, unless one is generous enough to notice the one-button mouse still trying to shout, "I'm much more user-friendly than the others!" Mac OS X was compiled for the last five years not just on an Intel processor, but on an Intel Pentium processor - the same as that of the masses.

[Myipodblog.blogspot.com] my iPod blog: After subscribing to a few podcast feeds (I chose the above mentioned BoardGameGeek feed, Adam Curry's Daily Source Code, and The Laporte Report), I let NetNewsWire do its thing--it downloaded a few recent mp3s of shows, created playlists in iTunes for them, and transferred them into iTunes (in the NNW preferences, I had all the mp3s put into playlists named after their feeds, and set the genre field on all of them to "Podcast"). I created a Smart Playlist to dig out all files with the Podcast genre with a playcount of 0--that way, I have a list of the ones I haven't yet heard, ready to drag onto the shuffle, and NetNewsWire will happily chug along in the background looking for new episodes.

[Foodisworse.typepad.com] Hacking iPod + iTunes: It's been well documented that your iPod holds music in invisible folders named iPod_Control/Music/F00, F01, F02, and so on. Until iTunes 4.8, files didn't change their names when copied to the iPod: Judith.mp3 on your computer was Judith.mp3 on your iPod.

[Ipoditude.com] iPoditude.com > The iPod Blog: Astute and enterprising reader Matt Wedel took a joke I made in my review of the Sumajin Smartwrap a little too literally and he's created his own smartwrap-type device out of a toilet paper tube which he calls the Dumbwrap. He took the challenge quite seriously (I think it was just an effort to avoid reading those paleontology books on his desk) and the effort shows in the final product, I'm sure this took at least three minutes to make.
